As some of you may know, over two months ago I underwent double foot surgeries. Healing from foot surgery was a long, lengthy recovery that had me homebound for over 6 weeks. 6 weeks on the couch, 6 weeks in sweats and 6 weeks without makeup. As I’ve said before, makeup is something I use, but not something I particularly need. Unless it’s mascara or a little cheek color, I typically wear very minimal makeup. I was intrigued at giving my skin a break from makeup during my recovery, and I imagined that it would look beautiful and glowing by the time I was ready to face the world again. Boy was I wrong! About a week or so after my first surgery I noticed that I was breaking out on my forehead and along my hairline. As a teenager and throughout my early twenties I had the occasional pimple, but I had never suffered from acne. It was as if I was looking at the face of another person. My skin had virtually changed overnight! I was distraught. My dad suggested that the quick change was possibly from the anesthesia or the painkillers that I was taking. Doing some research, I read that it is possible for your skin to change around age 25. Go figure that at the time I was just a few weeks shy of my 25th birthday. Regardless of the reason for the change in my skin, I was determined to fix it. I decided to order the Kate Somerville Blemish Banisher Kit, and I am so happy I did.
I began using the kit as instructed, see below for details, and with time I saw a change in my skin. The Detox Daily Cleanser is a great, gentle cleanser, and it’s something that I would definitely use on a regular basis with or without acne troubles. Same goes for the Oil-Free Moisturizer. It is hydrating and very light on your skin. The ExfoliKate Acne Clearing Treatment provides your face with a refreshing burst of cool on your skin while exfoliating with gentle beads. You feel a deep clean after using the ExfoliKate. However, the real superstar of the Blemish Banisher Kit is the EradiKate Acne Treatment. EradiKate is the perfect spot treatment for problem skin. You put it on your problem areas and sleep with it on. Overtime you will notice a complete change in your troubled skin! I’ve read other reviews that said they noticed a complete change in a week or so. For me it took a bit longer, but it definitely did its job, and I’m so happy to finally feel like I’m getting my skin back!
Detox Daily Cleanser: Use twice daily. In the morning and at night. I wash my face with this first thing in the morning to wash off the previous evening’s EradiKate treatment and at night before I apply the EradiKate.
Oil Free Moisturizer: Use twice daily. I apply this immediately following the Detox Daily Cleanser in the morning and at night before I apply the EradiKate.
EradiKate: Use at night on blemishes or areas of problem skin. The EradiKate treatment is sulfur based and sits on the bottom of the bottle. It looks similar to calamine lotion. Alcohol sits above it so that the treatment doesn’t dry out. I use a q-tip to reach to the bottom of the bottle and dab the treatment on my skin. Note: Do not shake bottle.
ExfoliKate® Acne Clearing Exfoliating Acne Treatment: Use once or twice a week. At night I apply this to wet skin, after cleansing with the Detox Daily Cleanser. I let it sit on my skin for a minute or two before washing it off. Then apply moisturizer and EradiKate as needed.
