A couple of years ago when I attended Fitness Magazine’s Blogger Meet & Tweet Event I received a coupon from Social Print Studio to print my own instagram photos. I thought the concept was so cool, and I immediately took advantage and printed out a stack of grams. I was so excited to recieve them, but I had no clue what to actually do with them! I framed one and placed the rest in my desk drawer where they sat for over a year. Then I saw a cool idea of a DIY clothesline on Pinterest. Immediately I was inspired and thought it would be a great way to show off my grams. I debated putting a hold on this post, because I’m slowly but surely collecting books, trinkets and organizational bins to make my desk the soothing, yet chic oasis I’ve dreamed up and it’s not quite complete yet. However, when I saw what a difference adding the clothesline made, I thought that I would burst if I didn’t share it right away. I absolutely love it. It’s cute, inspiring and customized to me! After a trip to one of my favorite places I was ready to attempt this DIY. It was the perfect project for a relaxing, yet productive Sunday. Talk about Sunday Funday. A Trip to The Paper Source + an adorable DIY and my soul was singing. Little things people, little things:)
I first assembled the clothesline with some thick twine and basic gold thumbtacks. Be careful to assemble the line so that it is fairly taut. Whatever you put on it will weigh it down slightly, so the tighter it is, the better. I used small clothespins to affix my prints and instagrams to the clothesline. The Paper Source has a great variety of clothespins, from patterned to solid colored. I chose the classic mini wooden clothespins to attach these adorable prints. There were so many prints to choose from, and I had such a hard time picking! I loved that this pack was only $8.95 and came with 6 different sayings. In the midst off daydreaming about setting up my bedroom inside The Paper Source, I also came across these irresistible gold heart doilies, and I knew they would make the perfect addition to my DIY clothesline. I am so happy with how my clothesline came out. It truly suits my soul, and I spend so much time writing and creating at my desk that it’s so important for me to feel inspired in my workspace. Writing is like therapy for me, and I love that my little work area is like my safe haven. I hope you’re inspired to make your desk or room a safe place that suits your spirit!
